Persuasive Essay On Art Education

In my speech class a couple days ago everyone took an attitude analysis quiz in which they rated each upcoming persuasive speech topic. For my persuasive speech I picked the topic of how art education is important for a child’s development. After the quiz, most students said they felt neutral, meaning they did not agree or disagree, with my topic. I am assuming they are mostly just uninformed and do not realize the topic’s relevance to their future generations. Therefore, I will include sufficient information in my persuasive speech to help bring my classmates up to date on my topic. I will present to them facts and advantages to help persuade them to agree with my topic and its relevance. On this quiz my speech class also rated how interested
they were about each topic. After the quiz, most students said that they were, again, just neutral towards my topic. I believe all of my classmates know that art education is important for everyone, but they probably do not realize how much it actually helps children develop. Therefore, I will demonstrate to the class the superiority of my topic and how the results of art education can actually affect this nation’s future generations. I will be showing the class all the developmental benefits of arts education such as the development of motor skills and language, decision making, visual learning, inventiveness, cultural awareness, and even improved academic performances. Also on the quiz was a rating of how much knowledge each classmate has on each topic. After the quiz, most of the class felt they had a fair amount of knowledge about my persuasive speech topic. I believe most of my classmates understand my topic, however, they do not realize the relevance to future generations. Therefore, I am going to share with them statistics and research from professionals to show how relevant the effects of art education is. I will also show them the advantages of art education being included in schools compared to schools without art education. Hopefully after hearing my persuasive speech my classmates will no longer feel neutral towards my topic, but rather agree and want to help see this change in schools.
