Persuasive Essay On Mexican People
Much has been said about Donald Trump after his chaotic presidential speech, where he said all kinds of absurd, false statements about Mexicans.
The funny thing is most of it is not actually true.
Trump referred to Mexicans as “not our friend”. He stated that Mexico is sending people with lots of problems, and bringing those problems here. Well, there are problems everywhere. Mexicans come to the United States for a better lifestyle, just like anyone from all over the world does. Donald Trump specifically stated what those “problems” are. Mexicans are bringing crime.
Wow. Whoa. Unfortunately for you Trump, that is not true. For example, based on statistics from the FBI, 17% of Hispanics/Latinos commit homicide, compared to 31% of

Wrong again. In a survey performed by Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization, it is shown that 71% of sexual assaults are performed by white people while 9% is by Latinos.
Stereotypes will always exist, and there are people just like Trump, who will try to convince others that they are true, however, the truth never fails to succeed.
Mexicans are bringing diseases.
Once again, false. According to an article on International Business Times, immigrants from Mexico own high immunization rates against illnesses and are better protected than Americans. Therefore, Mexicans are not bringing diseases, diseases exist all over the world.
With advanced technology and the amount of money that Trump owns, it would be fairly simple to cure diseases, wouldn’t it?
Immigrants don’t Pay Taxes.
Mexican or not, taxes are very much paid. My parents, Mexican immigrants pay taxes, my brother, a U.S. citizen, pays taxes, everyone pays taxes. Where you come from does not define whether or not you pay taxes.
In an article on Bustle.com, it stated that statistically immigrants have paid over 50 billion dollars in the years 1996-2003. That’s a relatively high number.
Immigrants do not contribute in a meaningful

On Tuesday, January 10, President Donald Trump delivered his first State of the Union address. A large portion of his speech was devoted to the controversial topic of immigration reform. A careful analysis of his remarks reveals that he does not want undocumented people living in America. Although he does squeeze in some ideas that will allow a limited amount of immigrants to receive citizenship most were ideas to them keep out or severely hurt their chances. Trump uses a series of rhetorical devices to label undocumented immigrants as bad beings such as logos and pathos, repetition and anaphora.…

Standing in front of Americans and saying that there is not one single Mexican that has been convicted of being a rapist would mean that I’d be lying to millions but there are statistics that show how according to the U.S government, imprisoned violent sex offenders were more likely to have been male and white than any other sex offender (Most Convicted). Most of America’s rapists have been white and while whites continue to commit a great deal of major and minor crimes, the race as a whole is never defined by those acts (Bloom). Their rapes were considered individual acts for which they alone were responsible. Now if American males count for 57 percent of the rapists found in the U.S. why are not all Americans considered rapists? Why is it…

There has been a continuous heated debate whether immigration should be legalized. However, according to studies of Camarota, "Nearly two-thirds of illegal aliens are lacking a high school degree" and "the primary reason they create a fiscal deficit is their low education levels and resulting low incomes and tax payments, not their legal status or heavy use of most social services." Illegal immigrants also do not participate in payroll taxes. If immigration were to be legalized it would have an increase average of tax payments by seventy-seven percent however the average costs would rise by one-hundred and eighteen percent (Camarota, Steven…

There are other sources of statistics to reveal link of ethnicity and offending. Victim surveys ask individuals to say what crimes they have been victims of. We can get information on ethnicity and offending from surveys when we ask what ethnicity of the person who committed the crime against them. For example in the case of mugging blacks are overly represented among those indentified by victims as offenders. Victim surveys show much crime is intra-ethnic; it takes place within rather than between ethnic groups. For example the British crime survey (2007) found 90% of where the victim was white; at least one of the offenders was also white. However while victim surveys are useful in identifying ethnic patterns of offending, they have several limitations. They rely on a victim’s memory of events. Ben Bowling and Coretta Phillips (2002) found whites may over identify blacks, saying the offender was black even when not sure. They only cover personal crimes, which make up 20% of all crimes. They exclude under 16s; minority…

In 2015, 50% of victims of police shootings were white, and 26% were black. However, African-Americans make up only 13% of our population, so this rate is disproportionate compared to the population. In addition, in 2015 the police shot 36 unarmed black males and only 31 unarmed white males. Unarmed before . And since African-Americans make up close to ⅛ of the population, the fact that unarmed black americans are shot more than white unarmed people is ludicrous. It is true that african-americans do commit more crimes than white americans, however. African Americans committed 62% of all…

This research also found that illegal immigrants have both positive and negative impacts in the United States such as tax payment, cost of education and health care, and economic impact. It was interesting to hear Donald Trumps' New York speech, the most confusing and scary part of the speech is when he stated that " this political stuff is hard." What did he expect the role of the President would be. A person who runs the country does not do so easily, there are decision that must be made that requires one to be resilient despite the outcome. I do, however, understand that just as President Obama posed as a model figure to many people both of color and not, President elect Trump posses as the same figure for many Americans. I do not believe that president Trump can fulfill majority of his promises to the American people, my fear lies in the people who believe that they can fulfill those promises for him. Such as segregation of the Mexican people by…

Mexican American parents have big traditions, expectations, and rules, not only for their children, but also the whole Latino population. Therefore, Mexican American parents do expect their children to abide by stereotypical “rules” such as patriarchal authority, motherhood, and sport.…

As you may know, Trump blames everything on others. He believes that laziness is a trait in "blacks." How can this be proven? He has not met every African-American to prove that laziness is common among them. Trump also attempted to bring down his rival, Hilary Clinton, by saying, "If Hilary can't satisfy her husband, then what makes her think she can satisfy America?" How rude! He should not have brought her personal life into the situation. Mr. Trump also accused the majority of Hispanics of being rapists and drug dealers. Where does he get such absurd ideas? Donald once tweeted, via his Twitter account, "Sadly, the overwhelming amount of violent crime in our major cities is committed by blacks and Hispanics- a tough subject -must be discussed." So, he basically blamed all violence in major cities in America on African-Americans and Hispanics. He once said, " A women's place is in the bedroom, not the boardroom." That was a very sexist comment made by Trump. Trump is just a bundle of…
