First because technologies such as smartphones and Internet are part of our daily lives, and such things would've probably impacted on Simpson's trial. For example, O.J. Simpson would probably be with his cell phone at the time that the crime happened, and his location could've been determined by tracking the device, which would place him at the scene of the crime. Moreover, his fans could've seen him on the street and taken pictures with him proving at what time he was in the city. Another example, the bloody footprints at crime scene were made with Bruno Magli shoes in the size 12. Only 299 pairs of these shoes had been sold in the United States. Thus, such evidence could've been proved with a photo of Simpson wearing the shoes - easily found on Google, or on a fashion blogger website, or even posted by himself - prior to the murder. Furthermore, the crime would've been easily caught by security cameras nowadays, and not even been committed knowing the many easy ways to get caught.
All that said, O.J. Simpson's power granted him a incredible good defense team, and unfortunately the prosecution didn't have the means that people do nowadays to prove that Simpson was guilty, and they didn't deal well with the evidence and the LAPD. Thus, if the crime had happened in 2016, the evidence would've been better used in the case and well explained, and the former football player would've probably been found
