In the video, it talks about a football team who care about a friend more than they care about their friends and themselves. As a result, star quarterback Parker Smith just wanted a teammate to shine in their secret play for the win. He and his team just want to make someone’s day or someone’s week (“On the Road: Middle School Football”). Parker believes that this is Keith’s time to accomplish something. They wanted to prove that he was part of the team and that he meant a lot to them. And Keith’s …show more content…
parents also believe that someone will always have his back from the present and until he graduates. Keith’s team have a lot of faith in him and they always will. In other words, another person wants Keith to be acknowledged by his teammate and the audience. His name is Justice Miller. Justice is a wide receiver who had finally realized how selfish he has been. He only cared about himself and his friends. But that play changed his mindset for a better cause. This play changed his life for the better. In conclusion, Keith and his friends now care about each other more than they care about themselves.
In the poem, it talks about how everybody needs someone to accompany them, acknowledge them, and try to make life worth living. In other words, it talks about a person in someone’s life that makes them happy, adventurous, joyful, etc. This is because many people in life are probably lonely with no one who’s got your back. They probably don’t even have someone to care about or even someone to love like a parent, or sibling, or even a best friend. The poem also talks about how that person can change your life in a positive way when you’re thinking negatively. The poem states that the world is not a pleasant place to be without someone to hold you and be held by (Giovanni 1). This person will make you happy when you’re feeling down, joyful when you’re feeling gloomy, etc. This poem is trying to let people know that there is at least one person that you can look up to for guidance, someone to care about.
And lastly, the novel’s characters also show how great their society is.
In the novel it talks mostly about how the Greasers’ care for one another. They’ll be there to have each other’s back when they got jumped by Socs’. They’ll be there if one of them got in trouble with the police. They’ll always have each other’s back when they needed it the most. But I think that they care about Johnny the most. He was jumped really badly by the Socs’ and he was scared ever since. They always protected him when he was in danger. Darry, Ponyboy, and Sodapop provided food and shelter for him when his parents were fighting because he was sick of it. In fact, Darry, Ponyboy, and Sodapop provided food and shelter for anybody in the gang. That’s why they keep their front door unlocked. Another example was when Johnny died. Everybody was shocked and depressed, especially Dally. It was like they couldn’t live without him. This proves how much they care for each other, and
Johnny.
Overall, the novel, the poem, and the video has taught me a lesson that I shouldn’t just think about myself, but care about the people that surround me. And I believe that the novel, the poem, and the video can teach anyone with a problem like the characters in these books and video. There are many more positive attributes about their society, but I think that these examples changed my mindset as well as it did to the characters. Parker Smith and Justice Miller cared the most about their beloved teammate Keith. Then, in the poem it explains how that special person in one’s society can make anyone’s life worth living. And lastly, Ponyboy, Darry, Sodapop, Two-Bit, Steve, and even Dally realized how important Johnny was to the gang when he died. In conclusion, the video and books can change anyone’s mindset for a better cause.
