I don’t know about other people but I would not risk my money if I’m not even being honestly guaranteed with good quality education. When you are wanting to strive for greatness, the only …show more content…
guaranteed way is to gain a nice tip-top form of education. You always want to make sure that you are gaining what you are giving, it wouldn’t be right otherwise. Another issue that we can definitely tie into this topic is the fact that not many families of those students wanting to attend college are that fortunate as to them being able to afford the college life and whatever else may come along with it. It’s not fair to those students who are actually willing to attend, and extend their schooling in order to better themselves. According to Leonhardt, David, “For those families on the fence-often deciding whether a student will be the first to attend- the skepticism becomes one more reason to stop at high school” (Leonhardt). This seems to be a major issue today in the world. It’s not every day a family can just give up thousands of dollars for their child to attend college, even if that means giving the student a chance to become a major doctor, surgeon or even a scientist. One of the last issues seems to be that college is beginning to be a waste of time and energy coming from the student themselves.
According to Shierholz, Heidi, “As college students head back to the classroom this semester, a harsh reality confronts them-the rewards for the time, energy and money that young people put into college are less than they were a decade ago” (Shierholz). It’s been said before that most jobs don’t even require major certificates to be hired. With that being said, students begin to think that it’s okay not to attend college because of that reason particularly. Which is fine. If that is what the student chooses to do, it’s totally fine. Major certificate of education or not, there are still jobs that
hire. Many students do want to attend college, they do want to gain a full top-notch education but it’s not possible with the ridiculous costs and debts you may have to endure.
