The sport industry can make a difference in the world of sexism via teaching about and exploiting injustices. Indirectly, children suffer from sexism in sports. These kids, because of media bias on the men, have different role models. If women were seen as much as men in the news, then a young girl might have someone else that she likes. There is also the case of bullying at a young level. Young children are the targets for bullying, and it is possible that many reasons are gender roles. Admiring a man in a sport that a young girl plays could subject her to a boys wrath because he believes that she should only like girls. Both suffer in that scenario, one receiving unneeded criticism and the other for undeveloped thought.

Not being directly on a team roster does not eliminate anyone from facing bigoted characters, in fact, female fans of any sport face harsh words. Supporting the same team does not even make someone safe. Many females can also be employed by owners of a team and have their whole life pulled into question. One case would be that of Eva Carnerio.
