Dear Senator ,

There are many issues in this country today. I would like to bring up the subject of abortion. In my opinion, having a child aborted before it was born is murder. In other words, the baby is killed. This should not be happening, this is not American to kill others, and deny people the right to live.

Abortion is not right; taking away someone’s right to live is wrong. My only exception to this horrible thing is if it was a case of rape. Even in the case of rape only about less than 1% of abortion cases are rapes. Many people don’t know that 52% of women obtaining abortion are at the age of 25 or younger and 64% of all abortions are preformed on never married women.

Three weeks after fertilization the eyes and spinal cord are visible and the developing brain has two lobes. Four weeks after fertilization the heart is beating and a circulatory system is in place. The portion of the brain associated with consciousness and internal organs such as the lungs are beginning to develop and can be identified. Seven weeks after fertilization muscles and nerves begin working together. Nine weeks after fertilization more than 90% of the body structures found in a full-grown human are present. At this point, the baby is already there, the baby is not a living creature, as soon as the egg fertilizes a human being is already forming.

Not many people today, know the risks of getting an abortion. Side effects may occur with abortion, whether surgical or by pill. These include abdominal pain and cramping, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Abortion also carries the risk of significant complications such as bleeding, infection, and damage to organs and in extreme cases death. Serious complications occur in less than 1 out of 100 early abortions and in about 1 out of every 50 later abortions.

There are alternate routes instead abortion if you do not wish to carry a baby after it was born. More

Picture this: a fourteen-year-old girl is abducted and raped. After visiting a doctor, they inform her that she is pregnant. This girl is only fourteen years old. She is put into a situation that was definitely not her fault, but will become her burden. The young girl would have to care for that baby her entire life. Of course, if she were able to receive an abortion, there would be much less pain involved. Rape victims, as well as women who find themselves unable or unfit to raise a child, should have the right to an abortion.…

Abortion is murder of an innocent life, and it is completely wrong in every way. There is no justification that could cover the fact that we are murdering our most defenseless human beings, and if anything we should be doing everything to protect them and keep them safe from danger, but yet some are doing the complete opposite. Abortion should never be an option, and one should never feel like abortion is the only choice because it is not the only choice. One must understand that abortion is not just, and people must come to their senses and realize the true outcomes of aborting a…

First and foremost, not all the laws of late-term abortion mimic one another throughout each state. Late-term is considered anything after 140 days. In Indiana, the late-term abortion is anything after twenty-four weeks (“Women’s Med”). Late-term abortion is a two to three day process because the baby is so developed. Day one of a late-term abortion procedure is when the surgeon injects digoxin into the mom's abdomen and straight into the baby's head, heart or torso to cause the baby to go into a fatal cardiac arrest. When the digoxin is injected, the baby's life should end. The surgeon then inserts laminaria sticks into the woman's vaginal area to open up the cervix to deliver the baby. It will take two-three days for the cervix to open up.…

Abortion is an eight-letter word that is determined by one’s self and not the public. No child asked to be in this world and they shouldn’t have to pay the ultimate punishment for their parent’s mistake. It’s no excuse as to why abortion should be okay, its plenty women in this world that want children but can’t bare them. Like my mawmaw always said, “You laid down and made that baby, so you’re going to stand up and raise it”.…

In the twenty-first century, everyone wants what they want, when they want it. Our culture is obsessed with immediacy. Because of our human nature, we want to be able to choose everything, even our consequences, despite our action. Sometimes a person getting what they desire is a good thing, but it can also be bad. There are many choices on debate. and one of them is a mother’s choice to keep or kill her baby. Seemingly linked to that, is the choice to be pregnant at all. Although the rampant use of birth control among young women has caused uproar in society because of its relation to abortion and religious and health reasons, it is important to know exactly what kind of birth control is being discussed, how it works, and why people are against it. Not all forms of birth control are abortion, but that…
