In the State of California, a semiautomatic rifle is considered to be an assault weapon if it occupies a detachable ammunition magazine or one of various other features, including a pistol grip, flash suppressor or grenade launcher (Feinstein, 2013). While staunch supporters of the 2nd Amendment often uphold that assault rifles have accounted for a very small percentage of firearm-related violent crimes, the author of this paper argues that semiautomatic rifles have become the weapon of choice in mass assault crimes (mainly in the United States) and therefore backs the ban on civilian ownership of these particular types of firearms.…

Growing up in the country is like a fresh breath of air, you need it but once you've taken it in your life gets infinity better. Like air, everyone needs family, someone to take care of or even to take care of you. There is no place to do that better than the country, there you can have both. I've had personal experience with growing up in the country and it is because of growing up where I did that made me the person I am today. Growing up in the country I always had my family not matter what, making those connections made it easy to stay connected to my family even now when we all don't live so close. I am one out of eight children also one of the oldest which meant I had to help with the younger siblings. I didn't mind, doing it actually helped me gain a great relationship with each of my siblings. Living out in the country not only gave me a chance to be with my brothers and sisters, but also my mother and father. I remember helping my father with the animals; horses, cows, chickens, you name it we had it.…

"Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there…to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would never realize your potential, strength, will power or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck. Illness, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere; safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make every day count. Appreciate everything that you possibly can, for you may never experience it again. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create you own life and then go out and live it. Everything happens for a…
