then figures out how to get them to do what he wants. His bugs have been featured in many if not all the spiderman movies, and other films such as Jurassic Park, Wild Wild West, Alien, and many others. He has his bachelor’s degree in science that he got from the University of California, and he also has his Master’s Arts Degree in biology focusing on entomology, ecology, and insect behavior. Kutcher planned to get a PHD, but however he did not get into his graduate school of choice, so he decided not to. Kutcher has loved bugs ever since he was a toddler, and has dreamed about studying them as an adult. His philosophy is “bugs are my business”, and if that doesn’t show how much he loves bugs, then I don’t know what will. Similarly, Carsten Peter is the same way...except with volcanoes. Peter has had a love for volcanoes ever since he was little as well, and feels so grateful that his everyday job involves them. Carsten Peter is an award winning photographer, whose pictures are regularly featured in National Geographic. Peter takes pictures of lots of things in nature, but his main focus is volcanos. Carsten Peter saw his first volcano with his family at age sixteen, but that’s not when his love for them started. Carsten always loved volcanoes as a kid, but when he saw one for the first time it made him realize that this is what he wants to do with his life. Peter risks his life for a pretty picture. He has traveled down into a volcano that was erupting, just so he could get good picture, and he has also spent the night next to a volcano for a good picture. Peter’s passion is volcanoes, but he also does photograph regular nature when he isn’t feeling as adventurous. Just to make sure we are clear with this, Peter goes into erupting volcanos. Not “sleeping” ones, but actual volcanoes that lava is coming out of. Although Peter could die from his job he still loves it and would not want to do anything else, just as Kutcher. Kutcher’s job is actually very dangerous as well. Kutcher deals with poisonous bugs like scorpions, that if they bit him he could die. One wrong move, if he tells the bugs to do something that doesn’t really match up with their behavior, they could turn on him and sting, bite, or whatever way they hurt people. Kutcher and Peter also have some very big differences as well.
Let’s start with the most obvious, Kutcher deals with bugs, and Peter deals with volcanoes. While both topics can be deadly, they are both very different. The next difference is that Peter is often times scared to go into a volcano, but does it anyway. How could you always be scared of something you are so passionate about? I have no idea. But, Peter never backs down because he is scared no matter how afraid he is, he still does it. On the other hand, Kutcher is never really scared of his bugs, he believes that they won’t hurt him, and that he is safe with them. However, I think it is perfectly okay for Peter to be scared because I believe that his job is a lot more dangerous than Kutcher’s. Even though, Kutcher and Peter do have a lot of differences, they also have a lot of similarities. They both do what they love, even though it is dangerous, and they both are very brave when doing so. If someone who knew nothing about these men, except what their jobs were I bet they would assume that they did not have too much in common. But once you learn about their backstories, and what they have both done, you would realize how similar these men really are. However, they also have drastic differences, like there actual professions, and some other things
too.
