He painted many different scenes and was very good at all of them. He painted many different genres such as religious figures, historical, hunting and animals, portraits, landscapes, and he still found time to draw. The moment between life and death for themselves of the animals they are hunting. The movement he creates from the man falling from his horse to the man facing the opposite direction, really creates this sense of directionality. Movement to and from the center as if the hunters are circling and coming around to pass the lions as the stab and thrust into them. Lion Hunt is painted exactly how it should have been. It captures the emotions and struggles that coincide with hunting beast like lions.
