Imagine trying to forget every trace of the torture you've been through and to precede with your life as a normal person. This was the case with many POW's like Johnny"s dad. In the short story, Marine Corps Issue by David Mclean, Johnny's dad is like a turtle in a way because on the outside it's solid and rough, however, on the inside, the turtle is very fragile and vulnerable. His character presents people with a false intuition of being tough and hardcore but within him, he is really crying out for help to deal with the unfortunate moments that he endured.…

The law and its ever-changing characteristics intrigued me at a very early age. Growing up, I wanted to be a lawyer. My goal of becoming a lawyer was a bit impractical due to my procrastination after high school graduation and because of my past financial situation. Not knowing what to do then, led me to join the Navy. The Navy afforded me the opportunity to go to school while working and it also allowed me to change jobs so that I can choose something closely related to my goal of becoming an attorney. That’s when I became a Paralegal, or “Legalman” as the Navy calls it.…

The current technological advancement in the twenty-first century offers law enforcement to have an anonymous crime tip program. This program allows law enforcement agencies to receive “anonymous phone calls and instant text messages regarding crime”. ("Laredo Police Launch Text Tip Program," n.d.) In the case with Officer Jones, I do not support his action in response to an anonymous tip. His actions were in violation of the 4th amendment and unconstitutional. Officer Jones should have collaborated on an anonymous tip to develop some facts that could justify his reasoning to trespass into the local housing project and conduct search and seizure of drugs. In my opinion, a good collaboration on the anonymous tip would include looking at a past crime report in the area. Also, the Officer Jones’ actions can be reflected on prior major probable cause cases such as “Terry vs. Ohio, Illinois vs. Gates, Alabama vs. White, United States vs. Hensley and Navarette vs. California”. ("U.S. Supreme Court Considers Anonymous Tips: | Sherry F. Colb | Verdict | Legal Analysis and Commentary from Justia," n.d.)…

These people included pedestrians and those going to their vehicles to either head home or to other businesses in the area. Officer Speedy lost control of her vehicle and ended up hitting and killed a pedestrian on the sidewalk in pursuit of the vehicle. Beach Bum’s job advertisement has included some exclusionary words that would keep some applicants from apply to a lifeguard position. The use of “look good in bikini” would be discriminating against males due to the fact females wear bikini and it could result in disparate treatment lawsuit. Also, the use of “look good in bikini” would be discriminating against religion due to the fact some religions does not allow its practicing members to wear such garments. A lawsuit under religious discrimination can show failure to reasonably accommodate the person in this particular religion. Another view of “look good in bikini” could discriminate against some women and men that do not have a particular body type. A fourth view of “look good in bikini” could exclude those that are qualified that are over the age of 40. A fifth problem with the job advertisement is the words “work on tan” this could discriminate against people based on race because not all races work on their tans. A sixth problem with the job posting is “home for the summer” this could be looked upon as the employer is only looking…
