As mentioned before opid addition often develops as a result of prescribed or self-medicated. Withdrawing from the use of drugs or alcohol can become very challenging and cause psychological issues. During this time the human body has become dependent on the substance, and many began dealing with various symptoms.
Many of these symptoms of opid and alcohol withdrawal are all common. However, each individual is effected differently. There are some side effects that are specific to each such as; restlessness, headaches, depression and irritability.
Psychological and social factors are often powerful stimuli for opid abuse setbacks. Seriousness of symptoms may require a different level of care and there are several other factors that counselors should consider during substance abuse treatment such as age, health, and how long the person has been abusing the drug. The first treatment option could be prescribing medication especially in the case of drugs such as opiates. Buprenorphine is used to treat withdrawal from opids as it helps treat the client
