1. Have I identified the cause or effect I am analyzing in my thesis?
The cause: How fashion is affected by the media and other sources. The effect: How fashion effects a person in today’s society.
2. Have I explained the cause-and-effect relationship convincingly?
Throughout the course of the essay I explain how media causes the fads and fashion to change, as well as how these changes can affect the possibility of getting hired at a job.
3. Have I organized my causes and/or effects logically?
The essay was set up in a way where I could show the cause of my topic moving right into the effect of the topic.
4. Have I used sound logic?
The logic behind this topic was sound.
5. Have I concluded my essay effectively?
The conclusion of the essay went back and re-established my thesis statement as well as my final thoughts on my overall topic.
6. Have I proofread thoroughly?
The essay was proofread by myself as well as another member.

How Fashion Effects Today’s Society
Fashion has been a major part of our society for hundreds of years. In most societies, years ago, the way an individual dressed may have identified their social class, political standing, or maybe even their respective age group. Fashion has evolved so rapidly over the years, from the zoot suit in the 30’s, to the bell-bottoms and Afros of the 70’s, and finally to the Mohawk and skinny jeans worn by individuals today. However, has fashioned evolved for the better? Fashion has been used as a way to establish a type of individualism and set a person aside from others. Because fads have evolved so rapidly over the years in unique and bizarre ways due to today’s media, they have been unaccepted in today’s society.
