To determine the heating and cooling curve of water

Design:
What we are going to do is investigate the phase changes and what the heating curve of water is. We are going to do this is by heating up 100ml of water on a Bunsen burner then adding ice cubes. Use a thermometer to measure the temperature every 30 seconds until it reaches a plateau.
Hypothesis:
As more time passes, the temperature of the water increases.
Independent variable:
Time
Dependent variable:
Changing water temperature
Controlled variable:
Fire, amount of water and apparatus
Apparatus:
* Five ice cubes * 250ml beaker * 100ml tap water * Bunsen burner * Tripod * Gauze * Glass stirring rod * Alcohol thermometer * Stopwatch

Method:
Step 1 - drew up a table to record the results
Step 2 – put the tripod and gauze over the Bunsen burner
Step 3 – put 100ml of water in a 250 ml beaker and added the 5 ice cubes
Step 4 – stirred for 10 seconds with the glass rod
Step 5 – put the thermometer in the beaker and took the temperature reading
Step 6 – lit the Bunsen burner
Step 7 – placed the beaker on the tripod over heat source and started the stopwatch
Step 8 – stirred the ice water all the time
Step 9 – took a temperature reading every 30-second. Recorded the readings in a table. Continued taking readings of the water until the water reached a plateau.

Conclusion:
The hypothesis is accepted since the results from the experiment show that the temperature did increase as time
