When looking at Vygotsky’s theory, he sees learning as a social setting, while Piaget sees it as a solitary setting. Development that is driven by Vygotsky’s theory is based off of input from others as well as MKO’s, while Piaget’s theory sees it been driven by conflict during stages. Vygotsky sees the context of development as being different dependent on social and cultural context. Piaget sees the context of development as being universal and stages are the same regardless of situation. Vygotsky sees knowledge being assembled when offspring work together, Piaget believes children get information through their personal investigations. Piaget also believes in the stages, where Vygotsky does not. Piaget sees the link as development precedes learning, while Vygotsky sees learning heads development. Languages drives thought, Vygotsky believe while Piaget believed thoughts drives language. Both theories are focused on the youngster learning as they cultivate.
