Pink Eye

It is common knowledge that conjunctivitis, or more commonly known as pink eye is an infection or inflammation of the conjunctiva of a person’s eye. The inflammation in the conjunctiva makes the blood vessels appear more visible and gives the sclera a pinkish appearance. According to The Mayo Clinic “Pink eye can be caused bacteria, viruses, allergies, and in infants it can be caused by a blocked tear duct” (The Mayo Clinic 2017). Viral and bacterial pink eye is very contagious and can spread through contact with the infected person or contaminated objects.
