The Crucible can be related Pinocchio by the way that lies change the story. When Pinocchio lies, his nose grows longer until he tells the truth. When he does so, he doesn't need to worry about his nose growing. In The Crucible, a man is asked to sign a contract saying that he gave the devil his soul.
