Piperidine Synthesis Lab Report
Abstract: An effective and convenient approach to synthesize highly functionalized piperidines via one pot, five component reactions between aniline, ethylacetoacetate, and aldehyde at room temperature using alum as a catalyst. The advantage of alum in this domino reaction is emphasized and the library of compounds have been synthesis from good to moderate

The final compound which I am going to look at is 4-aminobenzenecarboxylic acid. The compound is also known as 4-Aminobenzoic acid. The molecular and structural formula of the compound is C7H7NO2 which means that the compound consists of seven carbon atoms attached to seven hydrogen atoms along with one nitrogen atom and two carbon atoms attached as a carbon-oxygen double bond. The displayed formula for the 4-aminobenzenecarboxylic acid compound is shown and it shows the formula in a ring form therefore means that the compound is an aromatic compound. This is an aromatic compound because the compound consists of six carbons of benzene joined in a ring, having the planar geometry of a regular hexagon in which the distance between all of the C-C bonds are equal.…

TRANSCRIPTION: Transcription is the process of which DNA matches corresponding RNA bases, Transcription is located in the Nucleus, and the only type of RNA that is involved in Transcription is mRNA, and the purpose is so that the code can get out of the Nucleus, mRNA is also made through Transcription, It also takes information that doesn't directly make proteins but it helps makes codes for the production of proteins, DNA Transcription consist of 4 nucleotide bases, Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, Guanine. Transcription also unwinds the strand of DNA and the RNA comes in and matches then becomes a single strand. The only thing that changes during this process is the Thymine gets replaced with Uracil.…

Abstract: The objective of this experiment was to successfully prepare an endo,cis-diacid from the synthesis of the bicyclic anhydride (cis-Norbonene-5,6-endo-dicarboxylic anhydride). The percent yield of the product was calculated and found to be 39.01%. The infrared spectroscopy confirmed the presence of a O-H group with a stretch at 2948.03 1/cm and the presence of C=O with a stretch at 1698.93 1/cm. Melting point determination found the melting point range of the products to be 149.2-164.1 for the bicyclic anhydride and 169.4-179.5 for the endo-cis,diacid.…

(R,R) Jacobsen's Catalyst Jacobsen's catalyst opens up short pathways to enantiomerically pure pharmacological and industrial products via the synthetically versatile epoxy function . In this paper, a synthesis of Jacobsen's catalyst is performed (Scheme 1). The synthesized catalyst is then reacted with an unfunctional alkene (dihydronaphthalene) to form an epoxide that is highly enantiomerically enriched, as well as an oxidized byproduct. Jacobsen's work is important because it presents both a reagent and a method to selectively guide an enantiomeric catalytic reaction of industrial and pharmacological importance.…

The melting point of a compound is the temperature at which the solid is in equilibrium with its liquid. A solid compounds changes to a liquid when the molecules acquire enough energy to overcome the forces holding them together. A mixture melting point is useful in confirming and used to indentify an unknown compound, which we will be doing in this particular experiment.…

In this experiment, when vinyl strip and acetate strip is rubbed by tissue, it will charge the vinyl strip negatively and acetate strip positively caused by the transfer of electron between the strip and tissue. If molecules have non zero bond dipole, because polar molecule must have a non-zero molecular dipole where electron spend more of their time closer to one atomic nucleus than the other and make one end partially positive or negative than the other end. Different charge will attract the opposite charge which will bend the stream of liquid if it’s polar which cause the bend of the stream. Therefore proofing the shape of molecule of the liquid is not symmetric and it’s a polar molecule because of their attraction or repulsion.…

Cellular transport of taurine is sodium dependant. The ratio of sodium molecules to taurine molecule transported varies in different tissues ranging from 3:1 to 1:1.Transport of taurine in brain require at least 3 Na+ molecules, transport of hypotaurine require 2 Na+ molecules. Transport of taurine takes place in both neurons and glial cells. The transport in glial cells is greater than neurons and astrocytes. Deficiency of taurine stimulates retinal transport of taurine. The sites in mammalian retina where taurine transport is concentrated are, pigment epithelium, photoreceptors and neuronal amoxine cells.…

The experiment consists of 5 steps—Inoculation, fermentation, cell lysis, inclusion body solubilization, and peptide purification. In the first two steps, E coli with Snake 6 peptides is cultivated. Ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV-vis) is used to quantify bacteria through detection of their optical density (O.D.). After reaching a certain concentration in the fermentation batch, inclusion bodies (IBs) are extracted from these E coli by adding Bugbuster lysis solution and lysozyme.…
