Pistorius’ Girlfriend Killed Oscar Pistorius is an Olympic athlete for South Africa. He is an amputee in both of his legs and competes in track. On Thursday, February 14th, Pistorius, 26, is accused of shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. After she was shot through a bathroom door in Pistorius’ apartment, he carried her downstairs. Authorities also have not said whether Pistorius called for help. A blood-stained cricket bat was also found at the scene and is key-evidence. No one knows yet whether the bat was used as a weapon, if Steenkamp used it in self-defense, or if Pistorius used it to break down the door. Officials are questioning the motive for Pistorius to murder his girlfriend, who had intentions to stay the night because detectives found a bag of her clothes along with her iPad. Some say that Pistorius had mistaken her for an intruder, but there was no sign of any forced entry in the home. Police have charged Pistorius with murder, and he will appear in court Tuesday for a bail hearing. “South African prosecutors have said they intend to upgrade the charge to premeditated murder, but have not released further details” (Chelsea J. Pistorius says he rejects the murder allegations “in the strongest terms.” Around 2 AM, Steenkamp was found in a pool of her own blood on the floor of Pistorius apartment. Neighbors alerted authorities to the early morning shooting, saying they had "heard things earlier." Reporters say that Pistorius cancelled all of his upcoming races to focus on all of his legal proceedings. In my opinion, I think that Pistorius actually killed his girlfriend. I would be shocked if they prove his innocence because there is conceivable evidence that it was him who shot her.
