Pit Bull Aggression versus Other Breed Aggression
The two variables I have chosen to review in this paper are the aggressiveness in Pit Bulls versus the aggressiveness in other breeds of dogs. I will be Researching Pit Bull attacks, bites and so on to see what is really true, compared to other breed of dogs. Many know this breed has the ability to be quite dangerous animals, but that does not mean they are a risk to the population. In this paper we will look at graphs to determine what the truth really is. Honestly, I do not believe the breed is “evil” and “natural killers”. They are said to have a friendly temperament and is remarked for being attached to their owners. However, even with their friendly attitude and demeanor they can become very aggressive towards their territory. This is the fact that leads society to label them as a bad breed of dogs. I believe people fear these dogs because of the amount of force they have within their jaws and the strength they have in their shoulders and back muscles.
Pit bulls are known as fighting dogs. They have been used as fighting dogs for decades due to their pure strength and aggressive nature towards other dogs. According to Wikipedia, “these dogs purpose inspired the widespread practice of bull-baiting.” (Wikipedia) The bullbaiting sport involved the bulldog fighting against other animals, such as horses, cows, lions, and sometimes even men. By 1835, the sport was banned and outlawed due to much opposition from the people. Dog fighting has been illegal for well over a hundred years, yet it is still being done behind closed
