This development was a tax protest which occurred in western Pennsylvania tested the federal government's authority and demonstrated its ability to enforce laws and maintain order. The federal government had shown their strength and power over the first real test of authority.This rebellion tested the newly formed U.S. Government and tested federal authority.This untimely led to the suppression of the rebellion and was a major milestone in the federal government's assertion of power and
