Plank's Eulogy For Father: Non-Commissioned Officer
On behalf of those of us who knew and worked with your mother, Staff Sergeant Stephanie W. Plank, I want to express to you and your family our deepest sympathy on her death. She was a highly respected and highly regarded Non-Commissioned Officer. She was a caring, dependable and a true professional during her career. The 10th Mountain Brigade shares your feelings of loss and pain, as she was truly an inspiration to those who she led.
Your mother was a dedicated Soldier, but she was also very compassionate person as well. She always talked about how important family is, this is why unsurprisingly, she assumed a protective role with all her Soldiers. Your mother mentored and showed genuine interest to anyone who will need it. She was
very dependable, trusted and took care of her Army family while caring her duties.
The circumstances of her tragic death occurred as a shock to all of us. I want to explain the details of what happened on 31 May, 2013. Your mother, Stephanie was deployed with the 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, to the National Training Center for training. While conducting a training mission, the vehicle in which your mother was riding in, overturned. As a result, she died in this incident.
Your family has suffered a tremendous loss, our Army family has also suffered this tragedy as well. I hope you can find peace knowing that your mother left a footprint in everyone’s heart.
