Storyboard 1 – Scene
Storyboard 1 portrays what the layout of the cafe would be like in a contemporary society today, in the 1950s it was considered regular or a norm to be indoors and with the seating plan to be arranged in booth like face to face tables with cushion back chairs, nowadays you are seated outside or inside with free standing and movable chairs for table space for just 1 or to 8 people, you would have small garden trees inside our outside where you are eating and often a menu stuck outside the shop whereas in the 1950s it would inside on a chalk board above the counter with instead of trees for decoration retro posters and advertisements and possibly a jukebox.
Storyboard 2 – Societal Expectations and norms
Storyboard 2 portrays the societal expectations and norms of today, when dining back in the 1950s everyone would be socialising face to face and having uninterrupted conversations. Today it is quite common to not even socialise at all as technology has regenerated today’s generation to be anti social and play and be distracted with electronic devices, also it has become acceptable to bring your pets with you to where you dine for breakfast and instead of having juice, milk or water have an energy drink or protein shake.
Storyboard 3 – Way of Life
Storyboard 3 demonstrates the way of life today compared to the 1950s. In the 1950s when eating out or going out in general you would dress up to the nines and dress to impress. Women as well respecting their selves would try to not reveal as much skin and cleavage compared to women today. Often when going out people dine and go out today they just wear shorts and a jumper, in weird and quirky clothing or even in exercise clothes like tights and a running top after a quick session at the gym or quick jog.
