Many of the men who died founding the first colonies, fought during the American Civil War, and established our current form of Government, had strong Christian values that shaped their actions and pushed them to create a nation that promoted freedom of religion. This can be seen through documents like The Declaration of Independence stating, “That all men were created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights,” which address the existence of a God. Through history, we have seen that there has been a prominent influence of God in our society, for example: Presidents calling on National Days of Prayer, families teaching morals and ethics through the use of Bible, we celebrate holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving which share a Christian origin, in the tragedy of September 11, 2001 many individuals and politicians turned to God, and During the Desert Storm operation, soldiers received a copy of Psalms 91.
