Plot Summary Of The Book Just Listen

In the middle chapters of the book, “Just Listen,” the location stays the same in the city of Lakeview in her home and school. However, the time moves forward into the school year as well as backwards in the past to further explain future events. Moving forward, the mood changes to hesitant and tense. The author intensifies the mood by revealing the drama that began the feud between the main character, Annabel, and her ex-best friend, Sophie. For example, Sophie believes that Annabel had relations with her boyfriend, Will Cash, after catching them together at a party. Though, Annabel did not have any relationship with Will, but the day that Sophie “caught” them was the day that Annabel was assaulted by Will Cash. Sophie does not believe Annabel and continues to bully Annabel calling her inappropriate names. While this occurs the mood changes with hesitant decision-making changing the main character to be more cautious to avoid negative situations.
The two characters are Owen Armstrong and Will Cash. They both carry differences in behavior, personality, and physical attributes. Will Cash is an attractive, popular, rich kid who has girls swooning left to right over him. On the other hand, Owen is a tough, violent, loner at school as people describe, but when Annabel meets him he turns out to be a good caring person. As Owen stays completely honest and patient with others, Will is the opposite, he is dishonest in his relationship with Sophie and is careless on others emotions.
