The protagonist in this book would be Holden, the antagonist would be the world, and the phonies around him.
A motifs or themes in this book was about phoniness;holden sees all adults as phonies, and that they can’t see their own phoniness. Holden uses the word phony to describe much of the world around him. Another motif in the book was about the painfulness of maturing. Holden resists growing. Holden says adults are phony and does not want to be one of them.
My favorite moment in the book, was near the very end when Holden buys Phoebe a carousel ticket and sits down to watch her. I begins to rain heavily but holden is so happy watching his sister he doesn’t move. He wishes the reader was there to see what he saw.
YES, I would definitely recommend this book to other people.I really liked it, I’m going to read it again without having to dissect it. I think a few of my friends would also like this
