The biggest issue that is arising in America today within police agencies is police brutality. “Police brutality is the use of excessive and/or unnecessary force by police when dealing with civilians” (The Law dictionary). Throughout this paper police brutality is discussed an analyzed to conclude its causes and effects. But the actually act of doing something unlawful should be the cause of officers to pursue a civilian. Most of the time traffic stops occur is when there are numerous young individuals in a car together. It’s not that their doing wrong but the police target them and tries to find something wrong. It has been though that the personalities of some police officer are more subjective to the use of excessive force than others. Being that this is a public service job the individual’s personal feelings have to be separated from their duties to perform them without any bias involved. So judging on age, race, location or who you are should automatically make you a target for being a criminal or the next victim to endure or be killed due to police brutality. Like in the case of Trayvon Martin his physical attire, location and race have been subjects leading to his death along with other combinations of things leading to the death of a young teen. Although this act wasn’t committed by a formal police officer, this death was caused by a sick minded individual who didn’t make the police force. The power of officer has created a level of corruption that targets all generations of citizens. The way the police force is going in there actions of police brutality this is become an epidemic in society. Police Brutality is increasing an individual’s chances of the cause of an individual’s death to be caused by police brutality rather than other factors in the direction this issue is going. The number of deaths cause by police brutality over the years have been compared to that of solider who have lost their life’s at war for their country. The number killed by police has surpassed that of the victims who lives were lost due to war. This creates a strong correlation that the police forces are incorporating military tactics in their daily job duties.
