Police Recidivism
Nas's song "NY State of Mind" was very different from N.W.A.'s "Fuck Tha Police", since Nas's track discussed life in the poor neighborhoods and streets of NY. While, N.W.A's track is a single that disputed the police brutalities and racial profiling that were happening in the streets of West Coast. When Nas released his album, he took it back to the earlier stages of rap, when rappers discussed issues that were found in the community. N.W.A. broke the barrier by exposing an issue that many in America and elsewhere were not aware off and exposed it in a whole different level.
