Socialists believe that education is a vital and universal right and that all individuals should have access to free, unrestricted, high-quality education from the early years until old age regardless of social class, faith, gender or ethnicity.
Socialists argue the state should provide education and favor the abolishment of privatized educational services such as faith schools, public schools, independent schools and academies and the equal distribution of educational funds. Socialists propose the provision of the free playgroup, nursery and crèches for all children, and full-time school-based nursery delivery from the age of three.
