Politics. Envisioning Philippines politically 100 years from now, I see disaster. After a century, the Philippine political situation will remain politically immature. Filipino leaders will become only desirous of political control and not because they are interested in the welfare of the mass of the people. Voters will continue to choose not based on who is competent and who is fit in leading the country, but on popular personalities, whether they’re popular actors, actresses, athletes or children of former famous politicians, who are incompetent and does not have a single knowledge of running the country and are only good at convincing people with flowery words. Unworthy politicians will continue to be elected because many Filipinos will vote in exchange for money, not for the progress and prosperity of our country. Political dynasties will continue to prevail and local elites will continue to exert considerable influence in our country. Just like it has always been, presidents in the future will get impeached and senators will be accused of plunder. Corruption in our country will definitely not be lessened. Thus the political and economic situation in the Philippines will continue to be chaotic and mismanaged. However, the country might have a chance to prosper if the government continues to implement reforms, particularly in fighting corruption; if people will stop electing based on popularity, for money, for uncertainty, for probability, for the best promise, and will stop not voting at all. Only then the political situation in the country can get better as a whole.…
