Political Party Characteristics
The political party that I identify with the most is the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party believes that the Federal government should be more involved in assisting with welfare programs for the needy. Furthermore, the federal government should be more involved in regulating and protecting our environment. Just as I feel, Democrats believe that there should be economic equality among the countries citizens. Moreover, democratic are working towards expanding social security, increasing the federal minimum wage, and expanding education just to name a few goals of the Democratic Party concerning their economic policy. Their social policy is that voting rights should be upheld, same sex marriages should have the same rights as traditional marriages, and improve privacy laws to reduce government surveillance on its citizens. Moreover, their goals include the equal rights of individuals with disabilities, promoting arts and culture, taking better care …show more content…

It was surprising that I fall within just fifteen percent of the population whom feel the same as I do. According to the quiz, the people that fall into this percentage believe that there should be a social safety net and are often very optimistic about the state of the country. Liberals feel that good diplomatic approaches over strong military action to resolve conflict. Liberalism is most popularly known as holding a philosophy that the government should be more geared as a welfare state. In the Political Typology Quiz, the result says my best fit is Solid Liberal. Solid Liberal is wealthy and highly educated. They strongly support the social safety net such as welfare, unemployment benefit, universal healthcare, homeless shelters, and public transport and take very liberal positions on nearly all issues. Solid Liberals believe that the government should do more to help the needy, even if it means going deeper into debt. It says that they always vote Democratic and followed Barack Obama in 2012 and remain supportive of him today. Another characteristic is that Solid Liberals are very optimistic about the nation’s future. They believe that America’s success is linked to its ability to change, rather than its dependence on long-standing…

The faction that aligns the closest to my views is the Libertarian party. Libertarians are considered to be neither liberal nor conservative. Most Libertarians want to do away with the two party system. I believe this faction is the purest form of government. That being said, there are a couple things I do not agree with. For example, most libertarians believe that abortions should be illegal and want to reduce military spending. Overall, I agree with this party’s point of view the…

Both parties favor lowing the national debt, although, they both wish to achieve this in different ways. Republicans and Democrats typically agree on free trade, but following the election of President Trump, this similarity may change. The two parties favor start-ups and entrepreneurs. The Republicans favor this because it promotes individualism, and Democrats support this because is favors the middle class businesses. Even though both parties believe on different spending concepts for the military, both want a military for protection of the United States of America. The few similarities the two parties share help the country accomplish goals by allowing the two parties to agree and allow bills to pass to promote the better good of the United…

If I were to vote in this upcoming election I would chose to vote for the democratic party. I agree with much of what it is supporting and feel they treat everyone equally. The democratic party is a more liberal and social party than the republicans. They have a much more wide variety of people then republicans. Democrats are for equality and freedom. They support social programs to help society. They want to give money to schools to receive higher education, which many people would appreciate and would make our country more educated. The democrats support welfare and woman's rights. They want an equal and involved country. They republicans want to give the wealthy less taxes, where as the democrats believe…

America is a truly unique country. This land allows for people from all types of nationalities to come and unite under one banner. This land allows for differences in opinion, religion, and even differences in sexual preference. This land is not a dictatorship. This land is America: land of the free, home of the brave. All patriotism aside, America is a land of free thought and freedom of ideas. This leads to many, many different ideas, especially on how this country should be ran. These differences generally fall into the broad political categories of conservative or liberal. Conservative ideas tend to favor economic opportunity and less government interference within everyday life, whereas liberal ideas to favor greater government intervention and civil rights. The conservative party in America is the Republican Party, while the Democratic Party is the liberal party. They are continually at odds with one another on a wealth of issues. In fact, the issue usually doesn’t matter… pick any issue and one can hear two different points of view. Contrary to popular belief though, these two parties share common ground. Three issues that can be examined as such are public health care, election process, and lack of cooperation.…

Of all the parties that were present the one that I am going to vote for is the Ontario Progressive Reformist Party. Some of their ideas that I agree are creating more employment opportunities, Social welfare and environmental protection. Issues such as employment opportunities will effect me in the future as in only a few years I myself would have to enter the workforce, and with there plan on increasing employment opportunities I too would gain from this. An increase in employment opportunities allows me to have more of a choice of what I can become, either a mechanic or a doctor. Another one of their idea is social welfare. Social would benefit many poor families and if i were to ever need assistance from social welfare it would be nice to have one with many benefits even if it’s a failsafe.…

If I were to describe my political ideology, I would consider myself mostly liberal with some independent views. I believe in equality for everyone, regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, etc. I think Americans need to be a little more accepting, and open to reaching out and helping those in need. This country needs to continue moving forward and growing, and I do not see that happening with a conservative in charge.…

In a nation with such polar political stances and opinions, I typically view myself as a liberal-leaning member of society. As a liberal, I value the rights of the individual, and the freedoms that we are born with. I take into consideration that opportunity and equality for all is an important idea that should be stressed in our society and should be carried out by our government. I also feel that it is the role of the government to eliminate social problems and protect the natural rights of each individual. I stand on the ground of eliminating the death penalty, enforcing pro-choice decisions, and accepting that Global Warming/ Climate Change is a direct result of poor human decisions and consumptions, along with many other liberal ideas.…

(John, 2014) Conservatives are ideologically defined by their strict adherence to traditional values and practices as well as their support for little to no governmental regulation and their emphasis on individual citizens taking personal responsibility. Liberals are alternatively defined by their belief that the government should be active in the regulation of the people in order to protect the citizens from the possibility of unequal and discriminatory actions. (Rosalee & Zoe, p134) Liberals are also recognized by their beliefs in the overall equality of citizens, protection of liberties and progressive thinking that is based on the idea that there is overall an essential goodness to the mass populous. While there are vast differences between these opposing sides, it is possible to see how a person may agree with a conservative view of government while simultaneously believing in the humanist attributes of the liberal…

The Republican Party has over 55 million registered voters, comprising of over thirty percent of the United States population. Of course, it is impossible to form a party so that everyone fits, I think that the Republican Party does a fairly well job in creating a mold that includes thirty percent of the United States and I am a part and support and agree, to an extent, their ideas and platform. Some of the Republican Party’s stances on popular debates that I support are as follows: opposes gun control, opposes government regulated healthcare, and supports lower taxes.…
