Depressions no joke, it can cause him to do things that will harm himself. Pony and his brothers are their own family, and if you remove that family, it can cause him to lose interest in things he used to love. Depression could also cause him to stop caring about everything. This may cause him never to have friends. Depression also causes anxiety and trust issues to. It can also cause him to hate who he is and not to want to live anymore. Depression is one of the main causes of death.
Another issue with taking Pony away is that the foster parents could be mean. If they are mean he may try to run away. If they are mean, they may abuse him. Abuse is worse than living with his brothers. Pony is old enough to decide whom he wants to live with. Would you want abusive parents? I think not. If his foster parents are abusive, it would just make the judge have to place him in a new foster home.
Pony should have the right to stay with his brother. I would not want to leave and end up with depression, traumatized, or mean, abusive foster parents, would you. If he has to leave, he is going to have at least one of these problems. It would be heartbreaking to think of your choice being the reason for a teenager to begin hating his life and not want to live it anymore.
