Technology has caused a great impact on the past generations and has probably affected mine the most. When the word “technology” is mentioned in a conversation I immediately form and image of the latest gadgets in overly-priced shops such as PC World. However, people often forget that basic things such as a wheel or a chair are part of technology. One could argue that technology has made people have short attention spans or over dependence. But all these are secondary to the threat of obesity. From 1980 to 2010 statistics have found that in the US obese children aged from 6 to 11 has increased from 7% to 18%. I believe this is due to laziness, diet and lack of sport. Many children go to fast food restaurants, such as Mc Donalds, regularly. Such restaurants are known to be unhealthy and addictive, furthermore the technology is the reason for the stores existence.
Are the lives of young people being irreparably damaged by the development of technology?
