Changes such as large groups of people leaving the heartland, relocation to the south and west, and cities being repopulated are big factors in this movement. These changes have taken place due to economical reasons. People from rural areas are starting to move to find jobs because the loss of factory and agricultural jobs. Cities are starting to draw in young, educated people who are raising the cost of living in these areas, forcing poorer residents to move out. These poorer residents are starting to form suburbs around big cities that cost less to live in but are still near the city. Other people are moving away from the north and midwest to get to warmer areas in the west and south, called the sun belt. I fit in Midwest population that is losing people bigger cities and warmer areas. Many people that I have attended school with have moved to large cities such as St. Louis, New York, and Chicago to get an education and job opportunities that they would have never gotten in our small farm
