Positive Correlation Between The Drop And The Amount Of Potential Energy
There is a positive correlation between the height at which the tennis ball was dropped and the amount of energy that it held. This energy was measured through the amount of gravitational potential energy that the tennis ball had before it was dropped, and by the amount of work it had done when displacing the sand. As shown in Table 2, when the tennis ball was dropped at a height of 1 meter, it only possessed a potential energy of 0.569 J. When dropped from 5.5 meters, it held a potential energy of 3.217 J. This shows a positive correlation between the height of the drop and the amount of potential energy the tennis ball had. Also, shown in Graph 1’s trend line, is a positive correlation between the two variables. Table 2 shows the diameter

The goal behind this experiment was to estimate the distance a ball would travel after it falls a certain distance and bounces off a metal plate which has an angle of 45 degrees. To find this we had to take the basic equations for kinematics which are (1/2)at2=x and v=v0+at and combine them to make an equation that will help us solve for the distance the ball will travel after hitting the bounce plate. The equation came out to be R=g*(sqrt(2)/sqrt(g))*(sqrt(H)*sqrt(h)), as that g is acceleration of gravity, h is the height of bounce plate, and H is the height of where the ball will be dropped. After completing this experiment the result was that the standard deviation was +/- 2.3 cmfrom the average value of 26.5cm. This was used for each variable H was 20cm and h was 20cm. Also there 18 trials performed as well.…

Kinetic energy is when the object, the egg in this case, is in motion. On the other hand potential energy is when the object, again the egg in this case, Potential energy is the stored energy of an object, such as gravitational potential energy which depends on the mass and the height the object is at. In the egg drop we were hoping that the Eggpollo 6 would absorb the energy of impact, which would transfer the energy away from the egg and cause the Eggpollo 6 to protect the egg from breaking. The straws helped absorb the impact by bending. The toothpicks helped absorb the impact by stopping the straws from bending too much stopping the Eggpollo 6 from compressing too much. If I could do the drop again I would make the project as bare as possible for the mass requirement. But not so bare that there is almost no protection. I would put an egg in a small chamber just big enough for the egg to fit in made of straws and toothpicks in the straws hot glued the openings on both side of the straws then at one end of the chamber put straws on the sides going out at as close you can get to a 45° angle. At the end of the straws put a box on it at hot glue it to the…

what is the best height that will give the marble the potential energy to hit the target cup. Energy is the ability to do work. Potential energy is the energy of position and kinetic energy is the energy of motion. In order for the ramp to be successful, the ramp had to have the right amount of potential and kinetic energy. If you have too much potential energy than the marble would have too much kinetic energy and the marble would not land inside of the target cup, it will go right over the top of it. If you have too little potential energy then the marble will not have enough kinetic energy and the marble will not land inside of the target cup, it will hit the front of the cup The hypothesis for this investigation was that 200 centimeters would be the best height for the ramp to succeed and for the marble to land directly inside of the target cup. 200 centimeters is the best height for the marble to have enough potential energy to land inside of the target…

You will consider two variables—drop height and bounce height—to try to determine how drop height affects bounce height. You probably understand that a higher drop height will result in a higher bounce height, but in this experiment, your objective is to find out how one affects the other. For example, is the bounce height equal to 100% of the drop height or 50% of the drop height? Does the relationship change at…

    2. Consider the concepts of kinetic energy (KE) and gravitational potential energy (GPE) as you complete these questions. A ball is held 1.4 meters above the floor. Use the terms KE of GPE as your answers. A. When the ball is held motionless above the floor, the ball possesses only gravitational potential energy. B. If the ball is dropped, its gravitational potential energy decreases as it falls. C. If the ball is dropped, its kinetic energy increases as it falls. D. In fact, in the absence of air resistance, the amount of gravitational potential energy when the ball is held motionless above the floor equals the amount of kinetic energy at impact with the floor.…

The purpose of this experiment was to find the effect of the distance ran before kicking a soccer ball on the distance the ball travels. The data collected shows that as the distance ran before kicking the ball increased, the distance the ball traveled increased. In other words, the farther back the person started running towards the ball, the farther they were able to kick it. When starting at 0 meters, the person had an awkward kick because they weren’t able to get a running start, making the ball not go very far. However, as soon as they were able to start further away from the ball, at 1 meter, the ball went a lot farther because they had more momentum going into the ball. The hypothesis was if the distance before kicking a ball is increased,…

As you can tell, Physician assisted suicide has come a long way and yet still has a long way to go. Only a few states are on board but that’s more than there ever were. The question for you is, if you were in that position, if you were terminally ill, would you want to keep pushing and suffering through the pain when you know you only have 6 months or less to live? I guess that is the debate, whether or not, you, the people, would follow through with the act if you had the opportunity to die with dignity or would you become a vegetable, so to speak. I know, it’s easier said than done.…
