Pow 3 Problem Answer
Problem Statement - A farmer was taking her eggs to the market in her cart, and when she was heading there, she hit a pothole and all her eggs flew out of the cart and now all of them are broken. She then goes to her insurance agent, who asked her how many eggs she had when she hit the pothole. She didn’t remember how much eggs she had but she does remember some things from various ways she tried packing the eggs. She knows that when she put the eggs in groups of 2, there was one egg left over. When she put them in groups of 3, there was also one egg left over. The same thing happened when she put them in groups of 4, groups of 5, groups of 6, but when she put them in groups of 7, she ended up with no eggs left over. How many eggs did she have? Is there more than one answer?

Process - First, I knew that the number of eggs she had would be multiples of 7 because when she put the eggs in groups of 7, there would be no eggs left over. So what I did was I wrote out as many multiples

You can’t just solve them right away. I also got better at my long division because I had to do a lot of dividing to find the right numbers. I also got better at rounding because for most of the problems, they were in decimals so I had to round either up or down. I think I deserve a 2/2 in my “Problem Statement” because I feel I have explained everything clearly and most people who are new to the problem should understand it. I feel I should receive a ⅔ on “Process” because I feel some parts in my “Process” weren’t clear and some parts were very short. I feel I should get a 3/3 on “Solution” because I think I got the right answer and I think I explained everything clearly. I think I should get a 3/3 on “Self Assessment” because I feel I have explained everything I’ve learned in this problem, and I feel I should get 1/1 on “Language Arts” because I don’t have obvious mistakes in my

In this POW write-up, I am trying to prove that there can be only one solution to this problem, and demonstrate and corroborate that all solutions work and are credible. What the problem of the week is asking is that the number that you put in the boxes 0-4 is the number of numbers in the whole 5-digit number. For example, if you put zero in the “one” box, you would be indicating that there is zero ones in the number. Another example is if you put a two in the “three” box. This would indicate that there are two threes in the whole 5-digit number. I was asked to find solutions where are the numbers would work in heir perspective boxes. From there I started working on the problem that would fit this criterion.…

Process: Given that she lined them up by twos and one was left over, by threes and one was left over, by fours and one was left over, by fives and one was left over, by sixes and one was left over and by sevens and it came out evenly, we figure the number had to be a multiple of seven and end in a one or a six. (Anything divisible by five with one left over has to end in a one or six: 6, 11, 16, 21, etc. We figure that out when we eliminated 49 as an answer.)…
