JEAN ABRAHAM, Ph.D.

Expertise: health economics
Bio: Jean Abraham received her Ph.D. in public policy analysis and management from CarnegieMellon University. Her research specialties include health economics and policy, industrial organization, and applied econometrics. Her current research interests include household decisionmaking with respect to employerbased health insurance, welfare analysis of health care choice, employer health benefit design, and hospital market competition issues.
JAMES W. BEGUN, Ph.D.
James A. Hamilton Term Professor of Healthcare Management, Division of Health Policy and Management
Expertise: sociology of health organizations and occupations
Bio: Jim Begun received a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of North Carolina. His research specialties include applications of complexity science, evolution of health care professions, and the structure and strategy of health care organizations. He has served as chair of the Accrediting Commission on Education in Health Services Administration and chair of the Health Care Administration Division, Academy of Management. Dr. Begun teaches health care organizational behavior and management.
LYNN A. BLEWETT, Ph.D. , M.A.
Associate Professor, Division of Health Policy and Management
Expertise: health care policy and analysis, finance and delivery, access to care
Bio: Lynn Blewett received her master’s degree in public affairs from the Humphrey Institute and her Ph.D. in health services research and policy from the University of Minnesota. She is principal investigator of the State Health Access Data Assistance Center (SHADAC), a large multi-year project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson
