Pressure Ulcers: Grand Nursing Theories
The theoretical framework that I think best suit to address the topic of pressure ulcers is one of the Middle range theories, specifically the theory of caring. The Middle range theories were conceived after the grand nursing theories in order to dig deeper into the concepts of nursing by giving consideration the different facets and contributing factors to the health of our patients (Grove, Gray, & Burns, 2015).
Swanson’s theory was “empirically developed out of three phenomenological studies in separate perinatal concepts” (Andershed & Olsson, 2009, p. 599).
