Princes Are Praised Or Blamed

Machiavelli describes the relationship between the ordinary citizens and the nobles, which are the upper classes from aristocratic families. The nobles want to oppress the people, and the people want only to avoid oppression. As a result, of the opposition between the two groups results in the establishment of anarchy. The prince comes to power through the favor of his fellow citizens and it is important that a prince created by the people must retain the people’s loyalty. On the other hand, if the prince is created by the nobles must still win the people’s affection because they will always serve as protection. In Chapter XV, The Things for Which Men, and Especially Princes, Are Praised or Blamed. The author talks about how the prince
has to compete with unscrupulous people because he lives in a not perfect world that is surrounded by people that are not honest. As a result, the prince has to learn how to behave badly and to use this knowledge as a tool to maintain his power. However, the prince has to carefully take care of his public image. The reputation will affect the ability of the prince to keep power. This is the reason why is important for the prince to carefully prepared politicians for public consumption. The Prince is put in power by the will of people and is important for a prince to always ensure that his citizens always depend on his authority. Today in our society we can see this personal example in our society. As citizens of this country, we elect a President to be the higher authority of the country.
