Principles for Selecting Raw Materials of Manufactured Sand

Building sand is valued by the engineering projects, which includes manufactured sand and natural sand. The artificial sand is manufactured by crushing raw materials conducted by the crushers and sand makers. There are three reasons for artificial sand being the model of building sand that is advocated by the state. The first is to avoid the destruction of riverbed caused by excavation of river sand, thus preventing the floods and security risks. The second is to reduce the energy consumption and build price advantage. The exploration of river sand needs to salvage, remove sludge, dry and other links. Due to the large scale of artificial sand making machine , the electricity consumption of per ton of sand is relatively lower than river sand. Besides, the river sand resource is lower than the rock resource, which needs lower resource tax, thus creating the price advantage of artificial sand compared with river sand. The third is the hard rock equipment that artificial sand uses perfectly meeting the requirements of high-strength concrete. The current sand making machine can fully meet the grading requirements of artificial sand, which makes the performance for artificial sand better than the river sand.

The advocacy of manufactured sand is inevitable. But, the manufactured sand needs a large number of raw materials. Although there are large amounts of rock resources, however, they cannot be over exploited; otherwise, it will cause excessive deterioration of the ecological environment. Some areas have already appeared the depleted condition of sand rocks, especially in the eastern provinces that earliest develop the sand and gravel industry. So, how to solve these problems?

Actually, we have lots of waste resources to utilize, including building wastes, slag, blast furnace slag, gangue and so on. If we can use these wastes to manufacture sand, it will greatly ease the shortage problem of sand
