Pro Football Hall Of Fame Analysis

On September 7, 1963, the Pro Football Hall of Fame officially opened its doors in Canton, Ohio. Although it started as a small project, with the help of several expansions and renovations, it is now one of the most renowned places that Ohio has to offer, particularly in the world of sports. Now, with the help of the most recent project, the “Future 50,” the Hall of Fame is 118,00 square feet, compared to the 19,000 square feet it began with 54 years ago. The museum completed a 27 million dollar renovation in 2013, and inside, includes several galleries, archives and an adventure room. Along with the changing of construction, came the changes in management across the Hall of Fame over the years. The original director was Dick McCann, who
began in 1962. Following his death, McCann was then proceeded by Dick Gallagher, a former professional football coach, as well as Pete Elliot, John Bankert, and Steve Perry, also all accomplished in the sports world and beyond. David Baker currently serves as the President of the Hall of Fame, and began his work there in 2014. Most importantly, the Hall of Fame prides itself on a four part mission statement that includes: the honor of heroes of the game, the preservation of history, the promotion of values, and the celebration of excellence in every area. This mission is evident, as the Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization that continues to extend its work in the education and honor of the sport. Also, with its work involving several organizations, largely, the National Football League. Football is beloved across the country, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the summer for the fans. This is an especially special event for Ohio, and those lucky enough to score a ticket have the opportunity to truly witness history and greatness.
