Marc was a 19 year old boy, well fit, did great in school and had no problems with the ladies. He already knew what he was going to educate himself as once he finished college. If everything went as planned he was going to be a fully educated marine soldier by the time of 3 years ahead. The only thing in Marc head, that could make him reconsider the thought of going into the army was, that he this huge anxiety of trees, right on, he had dendrofobia. Marc case of dendrofobia wasn't just a minor incidence, it was at a stage where he couldn't even be near a single tree, standing by its own. Marc didn't really know, why he was so scared of trees or what had causes this fobia to begin with. Anyways the bigger and the more trees there were, the more scared Marc became. Even though he knew that there might be a chance of getting close to some trees while serving as a marine, he was still very sure that he wanted to be marine.
The day had come where Marc was finally starting on his marine education, he was teamed up with 14 other guys and they were then sent to a classroom for a short briefing, before being sent out on a test field. In the U.S army, things are tough from day one. The test field was quite simple, walk through a deep mud hole, climb a ladder upside down over a pool of water, crawl under some barbed wire and some other harmless stuff, nothing involving trees, so nothing to worry about for Marc. The other guys didn't know about Marc dendrofobia but they were soon to find out, as they the next day were ordered as a part of the training program to parachute down from 3000 meters height. At the briefing meeting just before the parachuting Marc as his commander what they should do if they were to land in the middle of a forest. The commander told him that they would be dropped right over an open field with at least a few hundred meters to the nearby forest but if the bad luck occurred he told him to "use your instincts".
