Explanation: Not all athletes get paid millions of dollars because not everyone can be the best and participate in the games. Some athletes make in the hundred thousands because they are backups or they are only on the teams practice squad.

Supporting Evidence #1: In the article it says “Ralph Lauren designed polo and went from making $50,000 to now 66,7 million dollars and his net worth is over 7 billion dollars (Professional athletes, 2014)”.
Explanation: Ralph Lauren is not an athlete but he did design a multi-million dollar business. Ralph Lauren does not have a salary cap because he has a business and the government can not tell you that you have to stop making a lot of money.
Supporting Evidence #2: The author states that “Professional athletes are paid exactly what they deserve because they work harder and sacrifice more than most people think (Professional athletes, 2014)”.
Explanation: Professional sports players earn the right amount of money because they work harder and put in more time to interact with their fans. Also some pro player are better because they work harder which means they will get more money.
Transition Sentence: Although athletes make what they deserve many other people believe that they are getting paid too much money.
