Matter of Faith In 1970, Joe La Rotonda was a 19 year old about to get married. He was working at a hose manufacturing company in Rochester, New York as an inspector. He had graduated from high school and seemed to be facing a rather mundane future. He had no interests other than having a family, and the things that most other men he knew seemed to enjoy (sports, bar hopping, cars) meant nothing to him.
