On November second at nine in the morning, I had an opportunity to attend the Arkansas Nurses Association's 104th Annual Convention at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock, Arkansas. This year's convention was "The Year of the Healthy Nurse," and the first presenter was Holly Carpenter BSN, RN discussing "Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation Grand Overview Challenge." Margo Bushmiaer, MNSc, RNP, NCSN, has worked fifteen years as the Coordinator of Health in the Little Rock School District. She served as a Consultant to the American Academy of Pediatrics on the TEAMS grant (Enhancing School Health Services). She has serve been an active member of the Arkansas Student Nurses Association for over 20 years. Additionally, I conversed with Ashley Davis, MNSc, RN, CNE, who has been nursing approximately 20 years. She is currently a Clinical Instructor and Academic Coach at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. After she completed nursing school, she worked at Arkansas Children's Hospital in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, and then became an instructor at the Baptist Health Schools of Nursing.
