Professionalism During Fieldwork 1
Please re-watch the Professional Presentation from Fieldwork 1 and answer the following questions. Please answer them in list format (1., 2., etc.) and keep in mind that I’m looking for quality, not quantity.
1. In what ways did you portray professionalism well during Fieldwork 1? In other words, tell me how you were able to present yourself professionally. What did you do well?
Overall, I displayed professionalism during Fieldwork 1 by following the rules and expectations set forth by the organization. For example, I dressed appropriately, worked well with the clients and staff, and showed respect and courtesy for others (i.e., respecting clients’ confidentiality, having integrity, not gossiping, etc.). Moreover, I assert that one of my assets during Fieldwork 1 was my ability to be optimistic, especially when I had a bad day. For instance, despite my mood, I had the ability to display a positive demeanor that likely contributed to a pleasant work environment and that undoubtedly had a favorable impact on clients. In addition, I maintain that I did great a job utilizing constructive criticism, staying on task, actively listening, and helping clients to the best of my ability.

Thinking of the topics in the video, in what ways did you struggle with professionalism during Fieldwork 1? (Note: “I can’t find anything that I struggled with or needed to improve regarding professionalism in Fieldwork 1” is not an acceptable answer. Do some serious, honest self-reflection.)
One aspect of professionalism that I struggled with during Fieldwork 1 is being a self-starter. That is, I was definitely hesitant to try new things that were beyond my comfort zone. Moreover, I also struggled with getting things done ahead of time. Admittedly, procrastination definitely decreased my productivity and caused me to feel overwhelmed during Fieldwork

Procrastination has become such a bad habit for me. It is hard for me to stop procrastinating. I believe I do my best writing at the last minute. I usually wait until the night before to do most of it. I am usually up late the night before the paper is due. Having things due dates has kept me on task, and keeps me from procrastinating until the day before the paper is due. There was one paper which we had to get sources for a while before the paper was due and it forced me to keep up with the paper, rather than let it go to the last minute. This class has taught me that the earlier you start the more positive your result will be. That was my mistake with the argumentative paper.…
