Profile of my mom.
I think every person has a role model that they can look up to. This person is a vital part of their life, they shape them as a person, and develop their morals and values. For me this person is my mother, Toni Stewart.

My mother "started young", as some would say. Becoming pregnant at seventeen, a mother by eighteen, and losing her father all at the same time, she was faced with reality at a very young age. Taking on the responsibility of motherhood when you yourself are still only a child takes such courage, devotion, and hard work and for that I look up to my mother. She sacrificed her teenage years in an effort to make my childhood everything hers was not.

Growing up, for my mother, was not exactly a fairy tale. Just like me, my mother grew up with a young mom as well. However, my grandmother was only sixteen when she gave birth for the first time. Unfortunately, at these times teen pregnancy was not as common as it is now, and my grandmother was constantly looked down upon for that. Because of this my grandmother was never very affectionate with my mother, and tended to put on the responsibility of raising and taking care of my mom on my great grandmother.

My mothers rough childhood really shaped the person that she is. She is one of the most hard working people I have ever known. Even with a baby on her hip she was still able to work full time as a waitress, finish high school, and even go to college.

One of the earliest memories I have of my mom was at a photography studio. In between classes and working, my mother also did modeling at a bridal company for extra money. I was sitting across the room trying to be good while my mom was getting her makeup done, and after what seemed like hours she finally stepped out of the makeup chair. I remember vividly how beautiful she looked. Her long blonde hair was curled in spirals, and all you could see were her giant sparkling blue eyes, everyone just gasped at her beauty. I still have the pictures of her from

My mother and father were busy at work, but she always managed to find time to take care of my sister, who was only 3 and ½ years old when they moved to America. It was very tiring for Li, it was even more stressful when she was pregnant with me, she still had to continue working 10 hours a day. Giving birth to me was probably the most painful struggle for her, she went into critical condition due to a c-section. She had loss and a lot of blood, yet, 2 weeks later, she got back on her feet and continued to do her usual. Even after all of that, my mother was still…

Role models are very important when it comes to social learning because we are more likely to do what they do they do so we memorise what they do well and then we copy. This is because we look up to them and it can be very different from copying someone in the street. This is because we would rather imitate our role models because we may think they are the best in everything that they do. Personally my role model is Nelson Mandela because despite all the challenges that he faced through his life has been strong, passionate, worked hard and he stood to what he believed in no matter how much people wanted him dead. Another reason is because he has achieved a lot throughout his life, but unfortunately he’s passed away now even though this doesn’t change my mind. I want to be able to achieve similar things to him. For this reason I copy his behaviour when dealing with certain problems.…

Being a role model is the most powerful form of education; we, the young developing adults, would be lost without it. A role model is a person that someone looks up to and wants to be like, either in the present or in the future. It can be anyone; a parent, family member, friend, or even someone off of a movie or book. The tremendous role models that I continue to learn from are my amazing mom, enlightened Coach Bird, and brilliant minded Sherlock Holmes.…

When my brothers and I were in school my mother was very involved. Every day until my brothers and I graduated high school my mother and father would both ask what homework we had and would help us when we needed it. They would then always look over our work to make sure we understood everything. My parents liked the schools we attended for the most part, but they did wish that there was more one on one time between the students and teachers. Since my mother was a teacher at the elementary school we attended, she was constantly communicating with our teachers. My dad would also…

When people ask me who my role model is I instantly think of my dad. In my opinion, nobody can compare to my father. While he was fighting cancer, I told myself, “There is no way he is losing this battle, he is too strong.” People constantly told me to expect the worse, however, I knew that he would pull through and beat cancer. My dad had always been there for me while I was growing up, at that moment I knew it was my turn to be there for him.…

Sometimes in life, we face difficult experiences that we wish we did not have to deal with, but these difficult scenarios can become amazing opportunities to grow as people and to build character. I was raised by a single mom and though it was incredibly hard at times, I would not want to be raised any other way. I am the strong and independent person I am today because I have watched my mom struggle and fall down but proceed to get right back up so she could continue moving forward. She has shown me that gender roles are just a social construct, even with small and seemingly unimportant tasks like changing a light bulb, because I saw my mom be fully capable of doing something that a dad would normally do in any other home. We never had a man that brought home a paycheck or supported us in…

She would let me have fun, cook me food, and look after me until my mom got off of work. This really had a strong effect on me as I still remember the good old days when there was no homework and there was just fun and games, beans and franks, PBS Kids, and hugs all the time. I was so fulfilled back then but didn’t realize that someone being there for me was a part of my fulfillment. It just sort of came to me naturally and my mind never once acknowledged the fact that there may not always be someone there for me but there was, no matter…

We love to learn and travel, eat exotic and luxuries food, spend time with family, and we both have an incredible urge for knowledge. From observing my mother's behavior and listening to her lectures, she has had a great influence on my life, choices, and personality.…
