The Progressives DBQ In the Progressive Era of American History, a lot changed. There were efforts to alleviate urban blight, corruption and economic issues. There were many approaches to this task, none of which were entirely successful. Overall they did alleviate many problems, but they didn’t effectively stop many of the more critical ones such as hunger, and the terrible conditions in tenements. The progressives did help the current situation to a point, but there was still a lot of work to be done.
