Part 1.
After reading the California Infant/Toddler and Development Foundations book I found the information very helpful and surprising. Knowing that in California the infant and toddler development is aligned with the preschool learning foundations is something I was not aware of. Having infant/toddler programs focus on social emotional development along with the other areas of focus is very important at such a young age. The main areas all the programs focus on are very critical areas of development at these particular ages. If I were a teacher in an infant toddler program the information in the book would help me with dealing with infant and toddlers development accurately. The information would also help me be able to define behavior issues or challenges among certain children.
The book would also assist me in learning new ways to connect with children and to teach children. The book lists an overview of each stage of development in depth giving teachers examples of situations along with what each area of development looks like. Reading the first chapter would definitely help teachers and parents with infant’s development focusing on particular areas from birth-eight months. Teachers and directors who have access to this information will be able to learn various ways on teaching children and focusing on different areas of development. This information will help children who are age three because their caregivers are knowledgeable making it easy for them to properly care for these children. Not only will they be getting proper care and education they will also receive different skills to help them develop physically, emotionally, and socially. By teachers and parents making themselves aware if this book they allow themselves to have knowledge when it comes to the foundation and development of children. Children who are age three will be able to focus on social-emotional development allowing them to learn how to interact with adults, build
