Promote innovation in a team environment
ASSESSMENT: BSBINN301A – Promote innovation in a team environment

Assessment Activity 1
1. Why is it necessary to reflect on what the team needs and wants to achieve?
It is necessary to reflect on what the team needs and wants to achieve to ensure that you are using your time effectively and to figure out the goals and objectives of other team members. It is important that we do this at Moonee Valley so that we can continually improve our sponsors experience here in order to retain their sponsorship for years to come.
I will probably also

2. What sorts of things might come under consideration when determining the needs of innovative teams? Are the needs clear, understood and agreed upon? Are they realistic, measurable and do they have specific timeframes attached. These are all important to ensure that everyone is on the same page. Assessment Activity 2
1. Why is it necessary to gather information about current or potential team member’s work in the context of developing a more innovative team?
It is necessary because if everyone knows what each other is doing in the business, it may be a good way to share ideas. An example of how we do this at Moonee Valley is by having monthly meetings where a representative of each department discusses with everyone what they are currently working on and what they have coming up.

Assessment Activity 3
1. Explain how diversity amongst team members and between teams benefits a business organisation.
It provides a means of bringing new or fresh outlooks to problem solving and decision making. It also provides a wider range of knowledge, experience and expertise from which to draw team making decisions. I have found this is the case when we have planning meetings for Cox Plate, we invite someone from every department to attend as everyone has different ideas which provide a new perspective.
Assessment Activity 4
1. Explain how a good team leader might establish ground rules for team operations.
They might be established

Having a diverse set of people in a group can only improve it. Thinkers can look at a topic from all sides, which can help a team anticipate arguments and have an answer ready. Givers can be the voice of reason, helping the group stay on task when an organizer or thinker is stuck on a non consequential detail. Adventurers think outside the box, they may come up with the topic itself or can be counted on to liven up a stale presentation. Organizers are decisive; choosing what information stays, what gets tossed, where it fits, and how to best unify a paper. Like Henry Ford’s assembly line, each person has a role that has to be met for the product to be finished.…

Reviewing the effectiveness of teams within an organization is imperative so that opportunities for improvements may be identified and investigated. The study necessitates an evaluation of an organization’s policies, procedures, processes and resources – whether they are sufficient, or whether additional arrangements need to be looked into. The study may reveal a need for: more documentation, infrastructural changes and/or employee requirements.…
